If we think we are not worthy . . . .
Are we worthy? We, as Christians, think we are not worthy to look upon the face of Jesus or worthy of anything that He may want us to do.
But wait? If we think we are not worthy, we are belittling what Jesus did for us. He died and spilled his own blood so that we would be worthy. He knew us before we were born so He knew what He wanted us to do with our life and also knew when and how we would accept Him as Lord and Savior.
So we are worthy to look upon His face and we are worthy to be used of Him. It’s time we realize that and stop acting as if we are nothing. He called each and every one of us. He has a purpose for us. No matter what has happened during our lives, we are called. He knew every thing that would take place, good and bad. All of it has been for a purpose.
If you do not know the Lord — have never accepted Him as your Savior, you can. Salvation is a free gift and Jesus died for all of us. So accept Him into your heart today and your sins will be washed away and you too will be worthy!
It has become a popular annual tradition.
(using many of the daily word posts: see the words in bold/italicized)
The Gremlins are out for the Black Friday sales. It has become a popular annual tradition. Our friends and our neighbors, who seem to be so normal, go through a transformation when this day comes around. Suddenly, they become like toxic sludge, a mixture of mud that is unrecognizable. They succumb to a temporary state of mind which causes them to seek a particular trademark of an item they just have to have. And when they find it, they will clutch it for dear life until they can get out the door with it in their hands.
Enlighten me please — why has this Black Friday tradition become such a risky business? You have to be brave to venture out on this day because if you cross the path of one of these Gremlins, it could cause a riff. Just the thought can make you faint and stiff.
It’s the way of the world now in which we live — the gifts have to be the most fashionable, the most popular, it’s what kids expect and it’s what they prefer. No longer do they stick to the rule “do not peek.” So, on this Black Friday, these nice friendly neighbors come out and, even though there is no gratitude, they refuse to deny the desires of their children, grandchildren, and all, so they push and they shove just to get the fluff and all the other stuff in the mall.
So what does it matter if someone gets hurt or dies in the rush? As long as they get what they are after — right?
Who cares if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
People have many interests . . .
People have many interests including myself. It’s good to have interests but sometimes we have too many interests to maintain. It would be good if we could focus our attention on specific interests – those that we love the most and eliminate the rest. Too many interests takes up too much of our time and then we do not become proficient in any of them. I, for one, have more interests than I can handle. There are just so many things that I want to learn and become good at. For example, I love to play the piano but I don’t have enough time to practice so I can become proficient at it. And I love to sew but there are just not enough hours in the day to do all these things that I love to do. Maybe one day, I can really decide which interest I want to really focus on and become good at it.
There are many forms of elastic . . .
If your elastic is plastic you will be fantastic!
But if your elastic is paper, it will be drastic!
Paper clothes are for paper dolls
not for people who shop in malls.
There are many forms of elastic
For many a use and type
such as wash and wear so people won’t stare.
But what’s up with all the hype?
And who is going to care?
Cotton and rubber good for swimwear
So, in saltwater, it won’t tear.
Polyester can be a bit stiffer,
But I beg to differ.
Some shrinks less
but if it comes undone,
it will be a mess.
Some is made of acetate
But hold on to your plate
It must be hand-washed
and not suitable for swimwear.
Oh what a bear (bare)!
This elastic humor is going to get you nowhere!
All we can do is ride along . . .
Our lives are like a leaf in the wind. We don’t know where that wind is going to take us. It just blows us around from one point to another. All we can do is ride along like that leaf. We cannot say we are going to stop the wind so we can fall down to the ground when we want to. We have to accept where that wind takes us; BUT, if we are born of the Spirit, we don’t have to worry because the Spirit is life and will take us where ever it is we need to be.
“The wind bloweth where it listeth and thou hearest the sound thereof but canst not tell whence it cometh and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”
Plans change constantly which prove that these things are not in our control. . . .
When you make a tentative decision, that means you are just unsure. How many tentative decisions do we make on a daily basis? We go about our lives day in and day out making plans for shopping, for appointments, for events, etc. as if we are in control of our own lives. But are we? Who is really in control of our lives?
Plans change constantly which prove that these things are not in our control. We can only tentatively make plans. God can change everything in an instant. Thinks happen beyond our control. Sometimes it is a good change but sometimes it is a bad change. What seems to us like a disaster could actually be a blessing in disguise.
We don’t understand the ways of God but if we trust Him, then we know that He has our best interest at heart. Bad things do happen to good people. When someone passes away, we always assume it’s bad but who knows what would have happened in that person’s life if they had lived? Something far worse could have happened to them and they could have died later in life in their sins; whereas, if they pass away as a Christian or as a child, then we know they are in heaven.
God is sovereign and He has everything under control. He is not surprised by anything that we go through. He has placed each of us in this time period that we are living in for a divine purpose. It’s up to us to seek Him to understand what that purpose is. Who knows the lives that we may have an impact on if we choose to pursue the purpose and plan of God?
