Your Calling by Penny Chavers

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance . . .

What is your calling?  Do you know?  We were all created with some sort of purpose.  God put in each one of us a calling (see I Corinthians 7:20: Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called; and Ephesians 4:4: There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling).  Like it says “let every man” abide in his calling — not one, not some, but every man (or person).

It is up to us whether or not we fulfill that calling though.  He will not force His will upon us.  He gave us freewill but He never changes His mind about our calling as Romans 11:29 says:  For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.  He did not call us according to our own wisdom or stature.  In I Corinthians 1:26, it says: For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.  He doesn’t need those who are stuck on themselves.  He wants those who will be humble because pride goes before a fall, which is what Lucifer did.

Our calling is not for our purpose but for God’s and it is a holy calling (2 Timothy 1:9: who has saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began).  He knew us before we were even born and He knew exactly what He wanted each of us to do.

He wants us to seek Him and search out our calling.  We do that through prayer and reading His Word (2 Peter 1:10: Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall; Ephesians 1:18: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints).

The Most Glorious Name by Penny Chavers

There is nothing or no one more glorious than my God.

There is nothing or no one more glorious than my God.  He is glorious in holiness.  His name is glorious and to be exalted above all names.  His kingdom is glorious beyond all human imagination.  Let us make our praise glorious to Him.

Let the whole earth be filled with His glory.  All the works of His hands are glorious for nothing He created was tainted in any way.  The heavens that He created are glorious along with all the angels that He created. I will speak of His glorious majesty and power and give all glory to Him.

The glorious gospel of our Lord will be preached to all.  And then, one day, all who have received that gospel will have glorious rest when He, the Son of God, comes back in all of His glorious beauty and majesty.

When He speaks with His glorious voice, it sounds like the sound of many waters.  And He will sit on His glorious throne to rule upon His holy mountain.  He will present to Himself a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing but will be holy and without blemish.

So we look for that glorious appearing of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
